Hvac Blower Fan Noise
Quiet a loud blower motor.
Hvac blower fan noise. Eventually things wear or get loose and will begin making noise that is carried into your living spaces. If you hear the clicking noise when you try to start your ac but it won t start that s usually a sign of an electrical issue within the thermostat compressor or capacitor. Loud blower fan sometimes your furnace blower motor is just simply too loud and becomes a nuisance. These sounds may be an indication of loose hardware or a failing motor.
In theory your hvac installer configured it properly during installation. Loose parts on the furnace can be the reason behind the unwanted noise you re experiencing as the blower runs. Outdoor fan motors and indoor blower motors squeal loudly when they re going bad. The louder the sound the more serious the problem can be.
If this is the case you may have issues with your ductwork or might need to reduce the fan speed of your furnace. They can last as long as 30 years with proper hvac maintenance. In reality not all installations are perfect and many fans are set at too high a speed. For some units this sound is normal upon start up.
This fix only works when the fan speed was too high in the first place. It s often possible to select a lower fan speed which will reduce static pressure as well as air noise. The only true moving parts in your furnace are the blower fan and motor. When the fan turns on in your compressor unit it should not rattle.
If the noise is similar to a scream your compressor may be failing. But they run a lot and move thousands of cubic feet of air every year. Rattling from the outside compressor or fan unit another common hvac noise is rattle. If you hear the clicking noise while the ac is running it could mean a small object has nestled its way into your blower fan so the object hits against the fan as it spins.
When you hear a high pitched squeal or whining sound coming from your furnace the issue could very well be the bearings on your blower motor. It also could a pulley with failing bearings. This problem can be solved very easily if you simply add a few more screws to the air duct or even put duct tape on the loose parts. Bearings should generally last a long time on blower motors.
This could mean that your compressor is failing.
